St. Louis (KMOX) - Greater St. Louis Inc. responds to Centene CEO Michael Neidorff's claims that he could take the Fortune 42 company out of the area due to a recent decision by Missouri lawmakers to not expand Medicaid.

"The failure to implement the will of the voters on this clear policy is not pro business," CEO Jason Hall said.

He said it's not consistent with growth. KMOX asked Hall if it makes his job harder to promote St. Louis

"We want to be a community of the future and we want to include all of our residents in that. Here we have before us a clear priority (to) create jobs, provide healthcare. Yes, that is making my job more difficult when we're trying to move this community forward every day," Hall said.

Hall said the Centene situation is very unusual but adds the business community supports Medicaid expansion and is not backing down until the will of the voters is implemented.
