BALLWIN, Mo (KMOX) - Former St. Louis Cardinals shortstop and local celebrity Ozzie Smith is asking a youth sports instructional company in St. Louis to stop using his name, according to a lawsuit reported by the St. Louis Business Journal.

St. Louis Baseball & Softball Academy Inc. in Ballwin is reportedly being sued by the National Baseball Hall of Famer. The suit says he lent his name in 2009 to create Ozzie Smith's Sports Academy, for a price.

The lawsuit says full and timely payments weren't made, so the parties made a settlement agreement and the company was asked to stop using his name in August, but they've continued.

St. Louis Baseball is now doing business as OSSA Sports Academy – which allegedly stands for Ozzie Smith Sports Academy.
