The Missouri legislature starts a special session on September 6, with Governor Mike Parson calling for a new agriculture bill and an income tax cut.

"Every tax-paying Missourian, no matter their background, income or job description, will see a reduction in their tax liability," Parson said. "Now is the time for the largest income tax cut in our state's history."

The Governor wants the income tax rate reduced from 5.3% to 4.8%. He also vetoed the agriculture bill this year, saying it didn't go far enough to protect farm incomes.

"I will always be a top supporter of agriculture in this state. And it's time for others who say the same, to do the same," Parson said.

Parson said the new agriculture bill should extend program sunsets and increase tax credits.
