Perjury trial in Greitens case, test for Prosecutor Kim Gardner

SAINT LOUIS, MO (KMOX) - Jury selection is set to begin Thursday in the trial of William Don Tisaby, the one-time investigator for St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner. He's accused of lying under oath in the Eric Greitens sex case.  Gardner's critics and supporters see the case very differently.

The Tisaby trial is just political revenge for Gardner forcing Governor Greitens to resign. That's the take of Adolphus Pruitt, President of the NAACP in St. Louis. Pruitt predicts whatever happens, it won't be Gardner's downfall. "Even if it was true -- I don't believe it was true -- but even if it was true I don't believe it rises to the level where anybody would lose their law license as it relates to Tisby and his prosecution."

Others think the Tisaby trial could lead to Gardner losing her law licence, when she faces a disciplinary hearing next month before the Missouri Supreme Court. Officer Jay Shroeder is President of the St. Louis Police Officers Association. "I think that every policeman out here that works hard and does his job wants to see her held accountable if she's guilty of the things that we think she might be guilty of."

Tisaby trial watchers are curious to see whether Gardner will be called to testify, and if she were to take the witness stand would she answer questions or take the fifth.
