St. Louis Police said they've arrested a 17-year-old juvenile in the daytime murder at Kiener Plaza Thursday. The teen has not been identified but investigators say they will seek federal prosecution.

Police said the gunman approached 30-year-old Darrius Mullins while he was sitting on a park bench around 3:30pm. The two got into an argument and the suspect opened fire.

Mullins ran through the plaza before collapsing on the sidewalk.
Police said the suspect then shot him several more times before fleeing.

An employee at Busch Stadium, Mullins was known for skateboarding downtown. His godmother and city committeewoman, Yolonda Yancie, told

"He lit up a room wherever he went," she said. "He was always pleasant, he was always fun. Darrius was a free spirit."

Yancie and alderwoman Cara Spencer are among city leaders making yet another call for the violence to stop.

"A homicide in the middle of the day in downtown St. Louis is horrific and obviously something we should be very, very concerned about," said Spencer.
