MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. (KMOX) - Police announced the arrest of multiple suspects and recovery of 39 catalytic converters believed to have been stolen around the St. Louis area.

The Maryland Heights Police Department says a suspect confessed to stealing 36 catalytic converters off vehicles in the area. A total of 39 were found in an apartment by police.
The bust began when an officer noticed saw blades and two catalytic converters inside a vehicle during a traffic stop. The officer recognized the vehicle from a crime bulletin about recent catalytic converter thefts.
The occupants in the vehicle were arrested and interviewed by police detectives. The investigation led police to the apartment full of stolen catalytic converters.
Police shared a photo of the haul:

Police say in the last two weeks alone a Maryland Heights city owned vehicle had the catalytic converter cut off it while it was parked in a public parking lot and a large number of catalytic converters were stolen from parked Post Office vehicles.
