HILLSBORO, Mo. (KMOX) - A Missouri sheriff shared the story of a recent arrest involving a possibly drunk man trying to get someone out of jail.

Chad Michael Gosney has been charged with impersonating an officer for his alleged jailbreak attempt at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, Missouri. Police say he showed up to the prison pretending to be an officer that was there to pick up an inmate.

Police say the inmate had no idea what Gosney was doing. Gosney was allowed in by real officers and immediately arrested.
Sheriff Dave Marshak of Jefferson County posted the story on Twitter saying, "What happens when you (allegedly) show up to @JeffCoMoSheriff jail sally port intoxicated and claim to be an officer picking up an inmate? We let you in, close the door and arrest you."
He shared Gosney's mugshot and a court document about the arrest.
A judge set his bond at $10,000.
