Creve Coeur, Mo. (KMOX) - A Creve Coeur police officer is expected to be okay after being hit by a car Saturday night. It happened around 9:30 in the parking lot of the West Oak Shopping Center on Olive Boulevard.
Investigators say the officer was checking on a report of a despondent driver, and that driver made contact with his car while fleeng the scene, as well as striking a squad car.
We're told police caught up with the suspect on northbound Interstate 270 and took him into custody.
The officer reportedly suffered non life-threatening injuries.
Charges are pending.
