Young teens out committing grown-up crimes. That's how St. Charles Police are describing Monday's shooting on a Cracker Barrel parking lot, a worker injured by teens trying to steal his running car.
"That is the most troubling issue to me in the entire incident," said St. Charles Police Lt. Tom Wilkison. "That this is a 14, 15, and 16 year old boy who were driving in a stolen car and came to St. Charles, armed with a handgun, were confronted trying to steal a car and shot somebody."
Wilkison added, "I've been doing this job for going on 28 years and few things really surprise me, but to see young teenage boys shoot somebody like that, early in the morning, on what's supposed to be a school day is troubling."
The 52-year old victim was shot twice--once in the elbow and in the buttocks. The teens were caught when the stolen gray Nissan they were riding in got a flat tire near Earth City.
