Police say around 8:45 p.m. he punched a man in the face and demanded "everything" while trying to take the man's car keys and phone near the Buffalo Wild Wings at 12653 Olive Boulevard. The victim was able to flee and called police, saying Rich was still digging in his car.

Police arrived and saw a man matching the description of the suspect trying to carjack two other vehicles. First, police say, he grabbed the door handle of a woman's Lexus CT200h in attempt to steal it, then tried the same thing several times on another woman's Hyundai Elantra.

The first responding officer got out of his vehicle and went after Rich. Police say he briefly escaped, but then was tackled and taken into custody.

Police say he was found with some of the first attempted-carjacking victim's belongings. His bail is set at $100,000 cash-only.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports, Rich's criminal record includes convictions in St. Louis of resisting arrest, stealing and physically taking from another in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
