St. Louis (KMOX) -- A multi-million dollar contract with a public relations firm to promote masking and vaccinations in St. Louis County is under scrutiny.
Members of the St. Louis County Council want to know exactly what services the company, Fenton Communications, is providing. It apparently refused to meet with the Council Tuesday night to explain what they've been doing.
A few council members are suggesting Fenton Communications has been working to improve the public image of County Executive Sam Page.
"This is a vendor that has a two million dollar contract with us. They have refused to come to us and explain what (they're) doing," Council Chairperson Rita Days said. "I don't know what our options are. I'll be checking with legal to see exactly what our options are."
Councilman Tim Fitch also expressed concern.
"We have emails now from members of the County staff that initially said (Fenton Communications wasn't) qualified because they weren't registered with the Missouri Secretary of State," Fitch added.
A few council members are suggesting Fenton Communications has been working to improve the public image of County Executive Sam Page and want to cancel the contract if possible.
