ST. LOUIS - (KMOX) It took a St. Louis Jury just about three hours to come back with a guilty murder in the first degree verdict on a man accused of beating his wife to death, hours after his bail was posted by the Bail Project.
Samuel Lee Scott had no emotion when the verdict was read. The jury also found Scott guilty of assault and violating an order of protection.
In April 2019, Marcia Johnson obtained a protection order against Scott, that same day, the Bail Project posted his bail
Prosecutors say Scott went home and beat Marcia Johnson, who died some days later.
This was not a Capital murder case, sentencing was not set. Marcia Johnson's family attorney declined to comment.
