Around 11:30 am Sunday, Farmington Police were called to Hilltop Apartment Complex for a shooting. Austin Atnip heard the gunshots while relaxing in his apartment.

"The shots were the first thing I heard and then I believe I heard some shouting and then some more shots."

He stepped outside to find the crime scene right outside his front door.

"I saw my neighbor right across from my door holding the gun. To my left I saw [the victim] on the ground, full of holes and bleeding."

He says while his neighbor claimed the man was breaking into his apartment, Atnip says the victim's friend who dropped him off told him a different story.

"They were dropping [the victim] off to a friends house. He was not trying to burglarize anything, he just went up to the wrong door."

Atnip says he heard no shouting before the initial gunshots. He adds his neighbor fired up into the apartment breezeway from the parking lot below.
