Regional Red Cross spokesperson Sharon Watson says, "as you go in to donate blood in the future, there will not be any eligibility questions based on sexual orientation and that will allow the Red Cross and other blood banks to welcome donors through a more inclusive donation process."

The change in policy is geared toward allowing more gay and bisexual men to donate blood.
