St. Louis, MO (KMOX) - The Red Cross says it will open more shelters -- if needed -- for people impacted by the May 16th tornado. "We are continuing to see our shelter population increase," says spokesperson Sharon Watson.

As you heard on KMOX, the Red Cross now has four shelters operating in the area, housing roughly 250 people.

Watson says the Red Cross continues to drive through impacted areas providing food and supplies, "making sure they have the kits that we provide with buckets, rakes, gloves, tarps and those types of things to make sure they can continue the clean-up process."

She says the organization could still use financial help, as well as more volunteers. Watson says you can register to help just for this disaster, or join up long-term at RedCross.org
