ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The Coronavirus pandemic has made fundraising difficult for many area organizations. Givable, a St. Louis-based nonprofit focused on creating ways for people to give locally and sustainably has announced a safe and easy way for charities to raise money with the launch of STL 50/50.

The regional digital raffle will be held every month to benefit different St. Louis area charities. The December raffle will support Youth In Need, which offers youth shelters and housing, counseling and early childhood education to help kids, teens and families in need.

Raffle tickets will only be sold digitally and must be purchased through the STL5050.com website. As with other 50/50 or split-the-pot raffles, STL 50/50 will award the winner of the raffle 50% of the gross sales, and the remainder will be given to the chosen charity of the month.

This region-wide fundraising effort is the first of its kind and will help inject tens of thousands of dollars into our nonprofit ecosystem to help solve some of our region’s most pressing issues, says the raffle organizer Givable.

This months's raffle ends on Dec. 31 at 12 p.m. and then a winner will be selected within 24 hours thereafter.
