SAINT LOUIS, MO (KMOX) - St. Louis Police tell KMOX News they are continuing to work with the Circuit Attorney after warrants in the hit-and-run death of a teen were taken under advisement.

Jacob Adler is accused of hitting and killing 17-year old Matthew Nikolai by Ted Drews and then leaving the scene. Police released photos of the truck, and following a tip, detectives reported the truck had been brought to a shop for damage repairs, consistent with the incident.

Adler turned himself in to St. Louis Police Monday. On Tuesday, he was released because the Circuit Attorney wanted more work from police.

Detectives are currently working with the Circuit Attorney's Office. "I don't know exactly what more that they need, but I can tell you that they are actively in daily conversations with the detectives that are handling that investigation and they are working together to get as much information as we need to proceed with that investigation," says Captain Christi Marks. KMOX's Maria Keena asked Marks if she's confident that St. Louis Police went in with enough evidence when applying for the warrants, "I don't have that particular information, but I do believe that it's a very good case and I do believe that at the conclusion of this investigation that the results we will see we'll be pleased with."

Police say rarely will there be any information released publicly from the Circuit attorney or detectives about their communications.
