For his weekly Roaming St. Louis segment, KMOX host Scott Jagow visits the Gaslight Theater, home to the St. Louis Actors Studio. It's located in Central West End, around the corner from what used to be Gaslight Square.
In its heyday decades ago, Gaslight Square was a mini version of Greenwich Village, home to coffee shops, bars and theaters. It attracted big names, including Barbra Streisand, the Smothers Brothers, Woody Allen and Phyllis Diller.
Scott sits down with the Gaslight Theater's William Roth to talk about that history, acting in St. Louis, the Hollywood strike and the upcoming season for the St. Louis Actors Studio. Listen below.
