A familiar name to St. Louisans for more than a decade is closing its doors for good.
The Tilford Restaurant Group announced Monday night it's shutting down Session Taco, the brand that began as Mission Taco Joint on Delmar back in 2013.
The brothers behind it, Adam and Jason Tilford, say it's been an amazing run, but their time has come to an end.
They pointed to a rough stretch for restaurants in general, with COVID, a tough economy, and rising costs, and they singled out a 2023 trademark lawsuit that forced them to drop the Mission name. They acknowledged the rebrand to Session Taco didn't go well.
The last day of service is Saturday at the two remaining locations, in the Delmar Loop and Soulard, plus LaPez Mod Mex in the Central West End.
