AccuWeather forecasters predict, through the end of the week, multiple rounds of thunderstorms will erupt from Missouri to Virginia, heightening the risk for flooding in those areas.

The threat for heavy rain begins tonight across Northern Missouri. Meteorologists say a dip in the jet stream will meet a surge of heat from the south spawning thunderstorms. By Wednesday morning, more storms could push into St. Louis.

Severe weather models show the possibility of damaging winds.
