ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Thursday is day one of a two-day mega vaccination site in the City of St. Loius where the health department is hoping to give out 3,000 shots a day. But there are reports of long lines, with some standing outside for up to two hours.

Photos of the long lines at St. Louis Community College - Forest Park were being shared on social media Thursday morning. One person waiting in line told KMOX it was enjoyable to have the comradery of others standing in the long lines with them.

Another person says her cousin waited in line the whole time, but was denied a vaccine when she got inside because although she had an appointment, she didn't have a confirmation email.

The city says you must have an appointment in order to receive a vaccine and said people should arrive about 15 minutes prior to their scheduled appointment. Here's what the line looked like:

There's also a mass vaccination site in St. Charles at the Family Arena, but things are going more smoothly there, after long waits last week. The wait on Thursday was between 15 to 30 minutes.

St. Louis health department was trying to correct an error in vaccine invitations for the mega vaccination site, as anyone who received an invitation on Wednesday for the event had an incorrect date on them. They say anyone who received an invite on Wednesday should plan to come to the vaccination on Friday.
