A Spire employee is severely injured after being caught in the middle of a stolen vehicle pursuit before 6:30 Wednesday morning on Gravois near Christy.
St. Louis Police say County Police were tracking a stolen motorcycle being carried in a trailer by an Cadillac Escalade. County officers attempted to stop it but it sped off, hit another car at Hampton and Gravois and then the Spire worker on Gravois near Christy.
"We have a pretty stringent special order on what officers will pursue for," says St. Louis Police Captain Donnell Moore. "Subjects of this nature in a stolen vehicle, officers are not going to pursue that."
Moore says city officers were not following or pursuing them, "The crashes that have occurred have simply been the suspects driving at a hazardous rate of speed and doing dangerous maneuvers in their attempt to allude city officers."
