ST. CHARLES (KMOX) - A group of St. Charles residents calling themselves Gateway Patriots plan a protest at the Saint Charles Convention Center Tuesday. They are opposed to the construction of a data center.

The Saint Charles City Council will be voting on the project Tuesday evening. They had to move the council meeting because of the large crowd that is expected.

Residents contend the council is pushing the project through, despite their concerns of health risks. They allege the data center will threaten the water supply with contaminants, require dozens of diesel generators, create dangerous electromagnetic fields, and disrupt wildlife patterns.

The Council meeting starts at 7:00 Tuesday evening.
