Some aldermen are raising questions about why it's taking so long for St. Louis to spend the half a billion dollars in pandemic relief money.
Alderwoman Sharon Tyus says she's not sure what the holdup is, "of the $500 million that we got, we've programmed $205 million, and we've only spent $73 million." And Tyus says at some point if the city doesn't use it, we'll lose it.

Aldermanic President Megan Green says part of the problem was some earlier plans to spend the money didn't line up with legal requirements for how it's supposed to be spent.
This fall aldermen say they want to start getting the money spent. Their priorities include infrastructure, public safety, city employees and the water department.
