ST. LOUIS, MO (KMOX) - The Missouri Department of Transportation is warning it could be a hazardous afternoon and evening commute.

At a briefing Thursday morning MoDot District Maintenance Engineer Bob Becker told reporters, he expects the weather to start to change around noon. He says he'll have a full complement of crews ready to treat the roads.
"That's the key as far as we're concerned right now is to get a treatment down. We can't get anything down ahead of it, because it is raining. So as it comes down we'll get a treatment down."
Becker warns bridges and overpasses will get slick first.
He says if you are able to work from home do so, or if you can leave early make plans now. Freezing rain and snow is expected by afternoon.
