
ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Edward Jones moved up 41 spots and Centene jumped 18 spots on the 2021 Fortune 500 list, which ranks the revenue of the largest U.S. companies.
The Financial services firm is now at No. 295, with more than $10.2 billion in revenue thanks to a 6.7% increase in the last year. Its managing partner, Penny Pennington, is one of the record-setting 41 female CEOs on this year's Fortune 500 list.
Other St. Louis-based companies on the Fortune 500 list are Centene (No. 24), Emerson Electric (No. 181), Graybar Electric (No. 399), Ameren (No. 469) and Post Holdings (No. 474). Just outside the top-500 are Stifel Financial, Peabody Energy and Energizer Holdings.
The ranking puts Edward Jones ahead of companies such as Southwest Airlines (No. 336), Hershey (No. 370) and
Pennington began her Edward Jones career in 2000 as a financial advisor in Livonia, Mich. In 2006, she was named a principal and relocated to the firm's St. Louis headquarters where she held various leadership roles.
