CLAYTON (KMOX) -- The St. Louis County Executive's Chief of Staff resigned Wednesday afternoon, effective immediately.

Calvin Harris had been in the leadership position for about six months. He wrote in his letter to County Executive Sam Page:

"I am resigning from my post in the Page administration effective immediately. I want to thank my beloved colleagues for their dedication and tireless effort to St. Louis County, as well as Dr. Page for entrusting me with this responsibility."

In another development late Wednesday out of St. Louis County, Councilman Mark Harder said he'd received an anonymous video of a man and woman engaged in sexual activities, seemingly recorded somewhere in the County Executive's 9th floor office suite. The man was apparently wearing a county employee identification badge.

Harder released a statement to the press which reads in part:

“I was provided information from a source who sent me an email containing a disturbing video of a sexual nature. It would appear the video was recorded by the male participant in a sexual act with an unknown female. The video was taken in what looks to be a St. Louis County government office in Clayton on the 9th floor of the Administration building.

"It is unknown to me how or why the male participant distributed this video."

Harder says, not knowing if the woman pictured in the film was a victim, he met with police on June 23rd and gave them the video and other materials. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is now investigating.

Harder says he's making the public aware of the video "for the purposes of transparency," and won't have further comment.

Meantime, Executive Page's spokesperson sent a brief statement just saying Calvin Harris is no longer an employee with St. Louis County.
