An indictment alleges that Weaver created a scheme to get money from the County’s Small Business Relief program, which was intended to help small local businesses with money from the federal CARES act. He allegedly planned to give the CARES money to a local business owner in exchange for some of the proceeds.

According to the indictment, Weaver is on the record saying "I hope this place is not bugged…that’s how Stenger got caught."

Weaver also apparently told the business owner, referred to in the indictment as “John Smith,” that he needed to get the names of Smith’s companies to his former boss, who is referred to as “Jane Doe.” Weaver previously worked for former Councilwoman Rochelle Walton Gray.

Weaver appeared in court Tuesday afternoon.
