ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A St. Louis County grand jury indicted an alleged serial rapist, charging him with 19 counts after allegations he raped six women over a two year stretch.
Yahya Maly, 28, previously charged back on Feb. 12 with multiple counts first-or second-degree rape after it was allegedly lured five women to his apartment and between March 2023 to February 2025 and raped each of them.
According to St. Louis County Prosecutor Melissa Price-Smith, another victim stepped forward, leading to Maly being charged with an additional six sex crimes, with four of those counts involving an additional victim and two of those counts involving two of the original five victims.
Maly, a student at Logan University, allegedly lured each woman he met through dating apps to his apartment complex at the 100 block of Log Trail Drive in Ballwin, Missouri. Maly tried to make sexual advances, but all refused.
Maly allegedly forced himself on the victims, holding them for hours against their will and sexually assaulting them in a variety of ways.
The most recent incident, which took place in early February, Maly forcibly led a woman to his bedroom, and held her against her will for more than seven hours and then would only let the woman leave after she showered repeatedly.
"We believe these additional charges would not have been possible without the thorough media coverage of the initial charges we filed," said Price-Smith in a statement. "We would like to thank local media for sharing our deep concern for our community and any victim-survivor of sexual assault."
Price-Smith says they still believe there may be other victims in the St. Louis region and beyond.
