ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOX) - A St. Louis County Circuit Court has extended the temporary restraining order on the face mask mandate for two more days.
It's clear that the court wants county and state officials to sit down together and come up with an agreement that would remove the court from the situation.
There is a virtual court hearing set for Wednesday morning at 11 a.m.
The mandate that was announced by St. Louis County Executive Dr. Sam Page was voted down by the County Council, but Page argues they don't have the authority to veto it.
Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt has sued to stop the mandates in St. Louis and Kansas City.
According to a previous court ruling that put a temporary restraining order on the mask mandate on Aug. 3, the county health department couldn't enforce a mask mandate until Tuesday's hearing.
Both the city of St. Louis and Kansas City have mask mandates still in place.
