ST. LOUIS - (KMOX) St. Louis County Department of Public Health's Christopher Ave tells KMOX students need to sign a parental consent form to be vaccinated unless they are emancipated or otherwise unable to obtain parental approval. If they have a parent, they need to approve it.
Ave says appointments can be made and walk-ins will also be excepted at all permanent vaccine clinics at John C Murphy Health Center in Berkeley, South County Center in Sunset Hills, and North Central Community Health Center in Pine Lawn. Ave says there are also multiple throughout the county which are listed at https://stlcorona.com/.
St. Louis Task Force leader Dr. Alex Garza says this brings everyone closer to a normal life. All four area health care systems – SSM, BJC, Mercy and St. Lukes – are all now scheduling appointments for kids as well.
Appointments are not being accepted yet, but Ave says now that the CDC approved use of the Pfizer vaccine in 12- to 15-year-olds, vaccinations will be offered soon.
As of now, Ave says there are no school site vaccination events planned, but adds if schools want that, St. Louis County will work with them.
