NORMANDY, Mo. (KMOX) - One St. Louis County school district is offering its teachers and staff money to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
Normandy School District's leadership says it doesn't matter if you got the shot months ago, or right now, it's worth $750.
"Tragedy can befall any community, but when you are as small and close-knit as ours is, to lose a bus driver to COVID, or to lose an English teacher to COVID, would have a devastating effect on our community," Superintendent Marcus Robinson told KMOX's Charlie Brennan and Amy Marxkors.
Robinson says the offer allows the district a way to track the percentage of staff members vaccinated, while respecting any personal medical privacy issues.
He says right now it's approaching 63%.
