ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOX) - You could see everyone wearing your design on the next major election day in St. Louis County. The Board of Elections and St. Louis County Library are hosting a contest to create a new "I Voted" sticker.
The contest is open to St. Louis County residents in grades 6-12 and anyone ages 18 years or older. Artwork for the sticker contest should be non-partisan and include the phrase “I Voted” or “I Voted in St. Louis County” and express a message of voting and elections through words or pictures.
More specific contest details will be released on Sept. 27 when the contest begins. There will be three categories for entry: 6-8 grade, 9-12 grade and 18 years or older. Only one entry may be submitted per person and all entries will be due by 5 p.m. on Oct. 15.
Digital and hand-drawn entries are accepted and will be judged for artistic skill and technique excellence, meaningful and consistent theme and uniqueness of the design. Judging will be completed by representatives of the election board and library Oct. 18-29 where the panel will select the top three designs in each category. Beginning Nov. 5, the public will be invited to vote on their favorite design(s) and the winner in each category will be announced on Nov. 15. The winners of the contest will be awarded prizes in addition to having their artwork professionally printed and distributed to polling places throughout the county beginning in 2022.
