Crews were getting ready for the big XFL football game in Downtown St. Louis, while some two dozen homeless nearby were told they must clear out by Friday morning.
Workers were driving tent stakes into the ground outside the Dome downtown, for fans to have protection from the weather. Meanwhile, on the riverfront, the city was working to move roughly two dozen people.
One of the men told KMOX News, it's not been enough time, "I have everything, I live in here for a year and a half, so I've got ten bags as tall as us that I've acquired over that time."
The Mayor's office says of the 25 people sleeping on the riverfront, 14 have agreed to go into shelters or rehab. The others plan to find someplace else on their own.
