ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A St. Louis non-profit is hoping to expand independent housing options for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Matt Elmore is Executive Director of Promise Community Homes, which already operates 80 single-family homes in residential areas.
Now the agency is working on designs for a small apartment complex of eight to 10, two-bedroom apartments.
The project is being funded in party through the Productive Living Board for St. Louis County.
Plans are to break ground on those apartments by the end of this year, with a planned opening in January 2027.
