ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI (KMOX) - The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department released a group photo showing what they call suspects in the mass shooting at a downtown office building that killed one and wounded a dozen others.
Police Sargent Charles Wall provided KMOX with the following description of the events of Sunday, June 18th:
At approximately 1:03 AM, uniformed officers who were manning a fixed post diverting vehicular traffic at the intersection of 14th and Washington observed a large number of individuals running from the building at 1409 Washington. As they were requesting additional assistance multiple calls came in for a shooting at a party on the 5th floor where multiple people had been shot. Numerous officers from the Summer Cruising Enforcement Detail, officers assigned to District Four, as well as uniformed and plain clothed detectives form various supporting units responded to the area. Initial investigation indicates that a large social gathering was held on the 5th floor of 1409 Washington, which is set up as office space. Numerous shell casings from multiple firearms were located at the scene. Multiple firearms were recovered at the scene, including AR style pistols as well as well as a handgun, which was found in the possession of the suspect, who was taken into custody by plain clothes detectives responding to the area. A total of 11 victims suffered apparent gunshot wounds, including the deceased who is identified as Victim 1. Victim 2 suffered gunshot wounds to his arm, groin, and legs. Victim 3 suffered a gunshot wound to his back. Victim 4 suffered gunshot wounds to his left side and legs. Victim 5 suffered a possible graze wound to his face and refused further treatment after being treated on scene by EMS. Victim 6 suffered gunshot wounds to her left leg. Victim 7 suffered a gunshot wound to her lower back. Victim 8 suffered an apparent graze wound to her ankle. Victim 9 suffered an apparent graze wound to her left side. Victim 10 suffered gunshot wounds to his right arm, left knee, and right ankle. Victim 11 was not injured by gunfire; however, suffered a possible spinal cord injury as a result of being trampled while individuals were running from the scene. Victim 12 suffered an apparent gunshot wound to her right thigh. The suspect was conveyed to the Juvenile Family Court. The Homicide Division responded and assumed the ongoing investigation.
