Roaming St. Louis: Remembering a 'symphony' of stars at SIU-E

For his Roaming St. Louis segment this week, KMOX host Scott Jagow visits the Madison County History Museum. The museum's hosting an exhibit about the Mississippi River Festival, which took place on the SIU-Edwardsville campus from 1969 to 1980.

It attracted a long list of 1970's era performers, including Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Janis Joplin, Eagles, Chicago, Jimmy Buffett, Arlo Guthrie, Bob Hope, Jackson Browne, just to name a few. The St. Louis symphony was also a major part of the festival. Scott sits down with three gentleman associated with the event to talk about its history, impact and eventually ending.
