"We haven't received any information from Boeing if our offer to settle was acceptable." IAM Union Resident General Vice President and lead negotiator Jody Bennett is providing KMOX an update on the Boeing machinists strike, which is now in week seven.

Bennett says Boeing's Dan Gillian calling the union crafted contract, that members overwhelming approved Friday, a publicity stunt was not.

"Now he's perpetuating this lie that this isn't a real offer. Well it is."

Bennett contacted Boeing's chief spokesperson Mike Fitzsimons with an email and written offer of a strike settlement.

"If Mr. Gillian thinks this is not a real offer then he ought to just sign it because if he signs it we're going back to work."

As of now no new negotiations are scheduled.

Boeing's Dan Gillian released a statement saying in part:

“As we said last week, it’s unfortunate the union led its members to vote on an offer that we didn’t extend or collectively bargain. Union leadership continues to have selective memory when it comes to real Boeing offers they have twice endorsed."
