
ST. LOUIS - The extreme heat around the state of Missouri been a toll for everyone, from parents, teachers, kids, and even firefighters.
One St. Louis FD firefighter had to be transported to the hospital to be treated for heat exhaustion after battling a Tuesday morning fire.
According to the department, at around 6:28 a.m. St. Louis firefighters were dispatched to a three-story building on the 4200 block of Delmar Boulevard.
Smoke was coming out of the third floor of the building but luckily the fire was under control within 20 minutes.
However, a firefighter in Battalion 5 had to be treated for heat exhaustion. The fire fighter was treated on scene and was transported to a local area by EMS.
The extreme heats led to two additional companies to be requested urgently for heat relief.
