A suspect is now formally charged in Tuesday morning's shooting death of a North Kansas City police officer.
Officer Daniel Vasquez, 32, was shot during a routine expired tag traffic stop last week. The suspect is 24-year-old Joshua Rocha. He turned himself in after the incident.
Clay County Prosecutor Daniel White said there is still more information to come out.
"There will be further evidence, there will be other decisions that have to be made in regards to this case," White said. "So this is far from over. This is just the beginning."
Rocha is being held on a $2 million bail, and is charged with first degree murder.
