ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Following another weekend of Downtown violence, which seems to frequently be related to short term rentals, St. Louis Police have taken action against one of those problem properties.
St. Louis Police Lieutenant Dan Zarrick says two weekends in a row, a building at 9th and Locust has presented problems. "We have identified a building with several units, some of which are being rented out through peer to peer short term rental services. We are working with the building division and property ownership to identify problem units within this building."
Zarrick adds, the civil eviction process has been initiated.
Zarrrick says the Summer Violence and Cruising detail which is comprised of added patrols from specialized police units and the Sheriff's department will be working Downtown.
