ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A St. Louis native has taken his local restaurant to the national stage as Little Fox was just named one of the 50 places that the New York Times is "most excited" about.

Craig Rivard and his wife, Mowgli, opened the restaurant in 2019 and he joined KMOX to discuss the major recognition. You you can hear the conversation in the audio above.
NY Times writer Brett Anderson says the restaurant "punches above its weight" with "Itanlian-ish dishes."
"We just try to do interesting food that's influenced by Italian and Spanish," Rivard says. "I'd say a focus on ingredients is our specialty."
"He’s making wise choices with the best ingredients he can find," Anderson writes. "Mr. Rivard opened the restaurant with his wife, Mowgli, a few months before Covid shut it down. It reopened for indoor dininglast spring. By late summer, the service was crisp. Tables inside and out were filled with people eating fried artichokes and grilled, Missouri-grown mushrooms, as if they had no worries."
