ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - After eight years of litigation, a federal court rules, more than 16-thousand people jailed, at the now shuttered St. Louis City Medium Security facility, also known as the City Workhouse, are eligible for a settlement because of inhumane conditions.
This applies to people who were in the Medium Security Institution, also known as the Workhouse, between 2012 and 2022. Blake Strode is Executive Director of ArchCity Defenders tells KMOX the total settlement amount is 4-million-dollars.
