ST. LOUIS- US Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona continued his 'Raise The Bar' Bus Tour with stops in Missouri and Illinois Wednesday.
Cardona visited three schools in both states, with Compton Drew Middle and Harris-Stowe State University being the two schools receiving visits by Cardona in the St. Louis-area.
After those visits Cardona will head to Springfield, Illinois, where he would visit Fairview Elementary School.
Local officials like Missouri Rep. Cori Bush(D), St. Louis Tishaura Jones(D) and Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) made appearances at one of the schools, with each school hosting a roundtable discussion, ranging from mental health to career and technical education.
During his visits in St. Louis, Cardona was able to appear on Total Information A.M. to discuss his visits, along with the growing topic of four-day school weeks and if students have recovered from the effects of pandemic shutdowns.
