At Gateway Pet Guardians, we strive to create a community of healthy pets and empowered pet owners. Our mission is to champion a thriving pet welfare community in East St. Louis, Cahokia, Washington Park, Alorton, Centreville and Fairmont City, which we have coined the East Side Pet District. Since our inception in 2004, we have been changing the lives of the animals we save and the people we assist. Our mission to end homelessness for animals cannot be achieved without working hand-in-hand with our community residents.

Each year, we see the decline of stray animals and this is due to increased outreach efforts and the relationships we have built in the communities we serve. Our 54,000 sq. ft. facility is the largest pet resource center in the region with the first-ever veterinary clinic in East St. Louis.
