ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Making a basket from half court will always be a cool thing no matter if it's in a live game situation or even if it's just for fun.
Friday was a perfect example of the latter as one De Smet Jesuit High School student hit a beautiful half-court shot that sent the whole school body crazy.
The student, Aiden, is a freshman at the school and one of the first students to be a part of the school's new inclusion program, which allows student likes Aiden to attend some mainstream classes with a peer mentor (junior or senior) and then has some contained classes with a special education teacher.
De Smet Jesuit was celebrating it annual Mission Week, which raises funds for important causes -- with this years funds going to LifeWise STL, TASK, and the American Cancer Society. The school raises funds by doing activities like dress down days, friendly competitions and special food for lunch.
Aiden, according to the school, has actively participated in school-wide activities like Mission Week contests and pep rallies. One of those of course being the pep rally where he made a beautiful half court shot to wrap up the in-school activities for the school's Mission Week, with students on Friday wearing pink for the American Cancer Society.
The school will wrap up the week Friday night with the Paint it Pink fundraiser during the school's varsity basketball game against SLU High School at SLUH.
