DELMAR LOOP, Mo. (KMOX) - The Loop Trolly is moving again along the tracks down Delmar Boulevard on Wednesday afternoon.

An orange trolley car labeled with "TESTING" signs was spotted by our Kevin Killeen. He says there were five maintenance workers on the car who said they couldn't comment.

Supporters of the failed public transportation system in a St. Louis shopping, food and entertainment district are asking for $1.26 of federal grant money to get it back on track, according to a report earlier this month.

The Loop Trolley officially closed in December 2019 and some view it as $51 million wasted.

The trolley faced numerous mechanical problems since it started operating in late 2018. It broke down on its final ride in December of 2019, stranding riders for 45 minutes.

Ridership was also lower than expected, too.
