Record rainfalls made the last two weeks the wettest 14-day period in St. Louis History. This came after Missouri was suffering from drought conditions with high heat.
"This has been the wettest two-week period St. Louis has ever seen," Meteorologist Matt Beitscher said.
Beitscher told KMOX that rainfall is measured in St. Louis at Lambert International airport. Last Tuesday, a record that stood for over 100 years was broken. Then, the record was broken again.
"The new record, which is yesterday's rainfall total, did not include rain that fell this morning, just yesterday," Betischer said. "4.32 inches, that is a new record."
The record before last week's record rainfall was 1.45 inches back in 1946.
Beitscher said the amount of rain the area has gotten in the last two weeks is much higher than usual.
"We've seen 15 inches of rain at the airport, that is a little over a third of our normal annual rainfall in about a week and a half or two weeks."
