GRANITE CITY, Ill. (KMOX) - A pickup truck crashed into a Metro East home killing a 73-year-old woman who was sitting in her living room Monday night.
Police have arrested the driver of the truck and are investigating. It happened around 10 p.m.
The victim, 73-year-old Virginia Ann Ohren, is described by her neighbors as a very nice person who would wave to them. Witnesses on the scene say police told them she was sitting in her EasyChair, eating oatmeal and an orange when the truck entered her home. They say the food was found in the truck's grill.
Ohren worked at Vacation Bible School down the road from her home.
Neighbors and family members of the victim were at the scene Tuesday morning cleaning up and collecting mementoes kept by Ohren.
