ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A 26-year-old woman has been sentenced to two concurrent 10-year prison terms for abetting in a shooting of a St. Louis Metropolitan Police officer in 2020.

Breonna C. White, 26, was sentenced to two concurrent 10-year prisons terms for abetting in the shooting of SLMPD officer Erich VonNida in September 2020.

According to the St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office, VonNida and her partner Cameron Jackson tried to stop an Chevrolet Impala that was driven by White on North Broadway Downtown.

Police spiked the tires after the Impala fled the stop. The pursuit continued into North St. Louis where the car would turn onto East Prairie Avenue and led to VonNida being struck once in the shoulder.

The Impala was found abandoned later that evening near West Florissant and Alice avenues. DNA from the Impala’s steering wheel tied White to the vehicle.

Last week, White pleaded guilty to driving the Impala and to first degree assault for her role in the shooting.

White is also still currently facing first-degree murders charges

White and 23-year-old Khalil Hughes were charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of armed criminal action in the deaths of two people on Sept. 22, 2019, in the 5800 block of Maffit Avenue in the Wells-Goodfellow neighborhood.
